If this was a football game, it would be the story of a comeback. Some old articles that were not in the running at all just swing past many successful articles last month and took back their regular spot in the top ten at the Bin.

13-One Punch Man #2

One Punch Man #2 did quite well earlier in the month. Leroy Douresseau wrote the reviews of both issues #1 and 2. Number 1 did well but was quickly overtaken by number 2. This article reached all the way to the top five at one point, but as is the case for reviews, eventually, they fade after having come out after a few weeks.

12-Johnny Bullet #40 (French)

Johnny Bullet in English always does quite well. But this month, Johnny Bullet in French started to have bigger numbers. This trend is correlated to the English version of my Webcomic also having increased viewership. All I can say to readers is thank you, and comeback for more!

11-My Experience with Microsoft Windows 10

I have documented all my problems with Microsoft’s new Windows 10. I will continue to do so, as my work has been terribly compromised with this update. At one point, I could not draw with, the computer kept crashing several times per hour. Since they saw this article, the folks at Microsoft have been very helpful and contacted me directly. But there are still many bugs and I have little time to spend hours with Microsoft on the phone to troubleshoot my computer. New bugs keep popping up. For example, my WI-FI connections take five minutes to be recognized, I can’t shut down computer after a day of work, and so on. I still recommend that no one installs this update. I’m still having problems using my video card, and my DVD drive. It’s the worst product from Microsoft ever.

10-Johnny Bullet #41 (French)

This was the most popular French-language Johnny Bullet page this month. Many people had suggested to me that ComicBookBin should be bilingual years ago. While a worthwhile idea, translating all articles to French is not feasible with the meagre resources that we have here. I’m a Francophone and French matters a lot to me. French is an important language in comics. My best contribution to French and comics, besides starting the European Comic section years ago and translating original French-language comics, is making Johnny Bullet available for Francophones. If you visit Johnny Bullet in French, you’ll notice that the pages have their own French –language interface. I have thought many times about posting the English and French versions of Johnny Bullet a few days apart. It would lead to less confusion for readers who load the wrong version that they want to read. But I won’t. I certainly don’t want to say that one version is more important than the other, or reveal spoilers in one version before the other.

I also create both versions at the same time and create language specific dialogues for each. They are not automatic translations of one another. I’m proud of this and happy that so many people now read the French version of Johnny Bullet to almost the same extent as the English version. I added a quick way to flip from each version in the Webcomics’ navigation menu. Hopefully this helps readers and encourages readers to learn another language!

9-Johnny Bullet Technical Difficulties

At one point the problems with Windows 10n and my computer were so great, that I could not post my latest page of Johnny Bullet. I had to move all my work from one computer and used an old one with a dead laptop screen and draw the strip from there, using the Cintiq screen I use to draw the comic strip, digitally. Thankfully, all the programs were still loaded on the old computer  but it still took me hours to transfer my work from one computer to the next (I decided to back up several projects, such as Johnny Bullet and my research work on the old computer, seeing how the new one was unstable). This article was written just to tell regular followers of Johnny Bullet that I might be late and to explain some of the problems I was having. It turned out that the page was released on time, but people kept reading about my crappy experience with Windows 10!

8-Comics

This page was way down the entire month and out of the top 15. Then suddenly, it just popped out of its hideout and landed here, as it does almost every month. Talk about a comeback story. Amazing!

7-Are Yaoi Comics the Future of Gay Comics

This page too was out of the running most of the month, and just pushed its way here. Although I wrote this article years ago, I’m disappointed to see the interest in this old article. I’ve written far better pieces about yaoi and gay comics since. Perhaps I should just update this article...

6-Johnny Bullet #41

Thank you for reading Johnny Bullet in such increasing numbers. It is an important project for me. I’m glad that so many of you enjoy it. I don’t get much comments but those I get on social media and elsewhere are usually very supportive and positive. Thank you and comeback for more every Sunday!

5-The Avengers Age of Ultron Digital

I got a review copy of the digital release of the film which had been reviewed when it came out in theatres earlier. I do prefer Blu-Rays though! Yeah, I’m an old timer! I don’t care. I like not having to enter some magic code on Disney’s Website and be monitored and tracked every time I watch a film that I legally am entitled to view. Blu—Rays and DVDs give me that flexibility and freedom. I do not support piracy. In fact, many of my friends find me weird because I would rather skip over a popular item that would bring good numbers to the Bin, if I have to find a pirated copy online. Often, that means that my reviews will be late, as I wait to get a legal copy before I do my review. But it doesn’t matter to me. Hollywood can get a bit aggressive and idiotic about piracy and may inflate numbers often. But I still think that at the core, you should pay for the entertainment that you get. Now, for some digital releases are one option. For old timers like me, having the release on a separate physical medium is important.

4-Top Ten Comics of the 1990s

This article had a slow start but quickly returned to its usual glory. It’s just amazing after so many years!

3-Fan Films

Once in a while fan film creators approach me to send links to their new projects. I’m not a fan film expert like Christopher, the guy who build the section years ago. But it’s a testament to his work that people still visit six years after he left! Until I can find someone as dedicated as Christopher to take over the fan fill section at the Bin, I’ll try to do periodic updates. But I have to say this. I hear you. I understand that people want to read more about fan films. Fan films don’t have to be spoofs of comics and other pop culture items. They can also be short and innovative small projects. I don’t have much time to research Vimeo and YouTube for the best clips. But again, I hears you guys. By supporting this page in droves every month, whether there is something new or not, you are sending a clear message about what you want to see the Bin do more of.

2-Johnny Bullet #40

Johnny Bullet is probably the most professional comic that I have created. As a kid, I was drawing comics all the time. As a teen in college, I drew sketches and storyboards of comics but very few clean and completed projects. Then, I went into animation and had no time to draw comics. Johnny Bullet is my comeback and through the Webcomic format, I can share this with you. I’m proud of the fact that I’m able to create a comic which is so different from what is available anywhere, yet familiar enough for fans of comic strips. If I’m remembered for something, it might as well be Johnny Bullet! More people are discovering Johnny Bullet every day. Thank you for helping me to achieve this comic the way I want it to be. It’s exactly the comic that I want to read and create.

1-Daredevil on Blu-Ray?

If you have been visiting ComicBookBin for while, you’ll know that this article has been the most popular (outside of the home page) since I wrote it in April 2015. If I had to apologies for being an old timer above, the number of people looking for information on when Marvel will release the Netflix Daredevil series on Blu-Ray is a testament that I am not alone in wanting a physical media to watch films and series. We hear all the time that all people care about are digital downloads. This is not true. Just like people who read Web comics like to purchase physical copies of the comics they view online, it’s the same way that people also like to own discs of series and films that they enjoy.
