Supreme Power #8

It is not that J. Michael Straczynski’s writing is bad; it’s professionally executed. It’s not that Gary Frank and Jon Sibal’s art is no good, although the jittery line work is annoying enough to tempt me into paying for some attention deficit medication for the duo. The problem is that SUPREME POWER #8 is a comic book that isn’t a story. It’s the slice of a story. The publisher gives us just enough to show us that the creators know what they’re doing, but not enough for them to justify this book’s price point. In fact, the contents of this Watchmen-lite are a tease, and this isn’t so much a comic “book,” as it is a tease for an eventual trade paperback release of the overall story arc.
