In a world with no heroes, what happens when powerful superhumans emerge? And now that the government knows that superbeings exist, what lengths will they go to use them for their own purposes? J. Michael Straczynski tells a hard-edged, mature and deeply personal saga that pushes the limits of the comics form into new, uncharted territory.

This is truly something special! Not only is Straczynski telling a great story, but his approach to the story isn’t encased in comicdom. The story feels like it’s a Scorsese film or even like Babylon 5, boundaries will get pushed in a non conformist fashion. There’s so much happening in between the words. Just like life, meanings and actions aren’t as simple as they seem. Just like life, a rose wrapped in silk!

Frank seems to excel himself with every issue. His pencils are the perfect match for Straczynski's story. He really knows how to get across the anxiety, fear and loneliness that we as people sometimes try to hind behind a façade of different expressions. His ability also to capture the feeling of flight and even hovering is great. And the cover, it seems strong and striking, but you can feel there’s something under the surface.

Report Card – B+
