Supreme Power # 2

I just noticed that on the cover of Supreme Power, there's a blurb advising parents that there are explicit contents within the comic book. I don't know if what explicit contents mean are sex or violence, but so far there is none of both. One can almost predict where this story is going next. Let's just say I wouldn't want to be one of the fifteen years old girls caught with Mark Milton.

The story is slow but Straczyski is placing all the blocks carefully. I just wish that three quarters all of the future members of the Squadron weren't from Alabama. Something that was well handled so far was the differentiation of Nighthawk's origin from the other super humans. Handled much like Bruce Wayne's it should come in direct conflict with Hyperion's.

Gary Frank continues to pen gritty pages although some characters are starting to resemble each other too much. There's not much difference between the general, Titus Richmond and some of the guards on monitor duty. The teens, including Mark Milton look much older than they should. Let's hope Frank can fix these because the rest of his work is excellent.
