Black Panther #9 |
Investigating a sudden outburst of strange, mutated wild animals in
Africa, the
Black Panther and the
X-Men – led by
Storm – team up to contend with their creator – the nefarious
Dr. Paine. But to get to
Paine, they’ve first got to get through
Red Ghost, the
Dragon Man, and an endless array of Super-Apes!
Well, the good thing is, this storyline is now done and dusted and hopefully next issue we can get back to the goodness. The story continues pretty much from where we left off with
X-Men #176 and mostly in the same tone. The only thing is, it doesn’t really do much to stimulate the imagination.
Hudlin puts in some jokes and the character interaction is a little better than
X-Men, but it still feels like somewhat of a let down.
Again, the
Panther art team come through and deliver more of an impact than what we see in the
X-Men issues.
Yardin, like
Larroca does a real good job with the action, but he also brings all the emotion to the characters. And even though
Dean White doesn’t colour the whole issue,
Matt Milla doesn’t lose a step.
