The Barsburg Empire
destroyed the Raggs Kingdom
. Teito Klein
, a slave, is a cadet at the Barsburg Empire Military Academy when he discovers that his father was Weldeschtein Krom Raggs, the King of Raggs. Teito escapes to the Barsburg Church
of District 7, where three bishops and seven legendary ghosts attempt to guide his destiny. Teito hopes to uncover the secrets of the murky past – his and the world’s.
Teito is an apprentice bishop, and travels with Bishop Frau
to the Land of Seele. To do so, he must claim a “curse ticket” from each of the seven God Houses
, which are the seven clans that are the true power in the kingdom.
As 07-Ghost, Vol. 11
(Chapters 61 to 66) opens, Teito finds himself inside Frau’s troubled mind. Teito is looking for answers, but he might be swallowed by darkness. Later, that potential swallowing is a topic of conversation between the two. They also discuss more details about Verloren
, the evil death god that might be connected to Teito in an intimate way.
Meanwhile, back in the Barsberg Empire, trouble brews in the form of betrayal and conspiracy. At the Imperial Residence
in the Hoburg Fortress
, the Princess Rosamanelle
is the focus in the Central Research Laboratory
. Plus, we learn what happened the day Teito, as a small child, had to flee his home.
manga is a much improved and more mature shonen manga than it was in its early volumes. It has won me over. 07-Ghost Volume 11
is filled with revelations, including a great story about Teito’s tragic past. Creators Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara
now make it impossible to miss a volume.
And why would you want to miss a volume? Once you have bought into the world of 07-Ghost
, you will only want to know more.
Readers looking for shonen military fantasy with action and intrigue will want to try 07-Ghost
