This issue, they finally come right out and declare who the new Flash is. The story certainly was slow in getting started and it is only in the last page that our hero finally dons the red tights and speeds off to save the day. The writers certainly take their time in setting the stage for the coming issues, introducing a potential new rival and revealing more details in the rash of terrorist attacks that have shocked our hero. While there is great potential in these stories, the patience of the reader will probably be wearing thin by now-- considering it took two issues just to show the main character in action. The art is very inconsistent. While it has a sense of power to it, the panels look crowded and many of the human figures and faces look rather awkward. The old FLASH was one of DC's best books and the new team better shape up if they want to catch up with that book's reputation.
