Xbox Live gets a case of Asteroids, ouch

Microsoft added two new games for Xbox Live Arcade today, the arcade classic Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe , which are available as a joint download . The original 1979 space shooter by Atari is now available for Xbox 360 users to download and play at their leisure, and comes along with its sequel – released in 1980 – which includes a new shield feature and dangerous satellite enemies. Of course, both games are now available in standard or widescreen aspect ratios, and in high definition as well, in up to 1080i, as well as full Dolby Digital surround sound. The games are available as a joint download for 400 Microsoft Points.

Puzzle Quest comes to Wii

D3 Publisher of America announced the release of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Wii today. The hit puzzle game, which initially launched on Nintendo DS and PSP, then made its way to Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation 2 and PC, is finally available for Wii, with some new twists. The game still maintains its blend of match-three puzzle gameplay with strategy, character-building elements and a full storyline, but now includes updated features like the re-balancing of some runs, spells and other items, shorter recharge time limits for the more powerful spells, a re-play option for monster capture puzzles, two player multiplayer, and motion sensitivity, using the Wii Remote. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is available now for $29.99 USD/$34.99 CAD and is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and up.
