Thor #85

It's the end of all that is, and you've got a ringside seat for the last day of the Norse Gods, as Thor struggles to break the god cycle once and for all! You must read this, True Believer - and here's a hint as to why: there's no Thor #86 next month...
This was a fitting way to end the series, certain things were cleared up (Surtur) and the goal of Thor is revealed. The message that seems to jump out of the story is, not all situations can be rectified with your fists, sometimes you have to step back and think things through and only then will you reach your goal. This isn't conveyed in a preachy sense however. The story just manifests in a way that it all becomes clear. The only frustrating thing about this issue is the end. Now the cycle has been broken, you really want to know what Thor will do. Can't wait for the new series!!!
Divito hasn't slipped once on this story, his pencils have really helped project the air of mythic legend that Oeming has written. His panel layout has also been an appropriate exhibit of the flowing story and made things interesting. It was real nice at the end to have the splash page depicting the many faces of Thor and his companions. It's not only the pencils though, as Laura Villari's colouring pumps the blood through Divito's heart.
