One Year Later, there is a new, New Teen Titans made up of some old faces and some surprise additions. The creative team seem to be distancing themselves from the animated version of the Titans by picking characters who have not appeared in the cartoon at all. We get some hints of what happened in the Titans' missing year and it is implied that the blanks will be filled in over the coming months. The change in line-up is daring as the new members aren't exactly fan-favourites so it will be interesting to see what Johns and company will do with them. Old-time Titans fans may be disappointed to see their old regulars gone but the book also holds out hope that they can still return. The art is still rough around the edges, sometimes using too much detail that actually makes it hard to tell what is happening in some panels. But it shows great potential and could finally give the book a distinctive look after so many years of rotating art teams.
