Ultimate Spider-man #64

This is the big showdown between Spider-Man & Carnage, but the outcome is NOT what you expect. And what is that Ben Reilly up to!?

This was a really nice feeling issue and that is pleasing. The last four parts of this story have had good points, but as overall issues, just didn't seem to gel. Here though, everything fell together just right. We get back into Peter's heads with some really good narration. That show's us how the whole Carnage situation has affected him. We also get to see the same thing in Curt Connor's. But what's the deal with Ben Reilly!?!

The thing that Bagley does so well this issue is placement & proportions. Everything looks like a great fit. And the action looks really fluid and sequential. The other thing he does that tells you so much is facial expressions. All through the issue they're great, but I think what we see in the last few pages with Conner's, Peter, MJ and Reilly, is fantastic stuff and we can see the subliminal messages so clearly.
