The Crew # 5

The Crew is about three guys initially (soon to become four) bound together out of self-interest who become inspired to a higher cause in defending the residents of a dangerous no-man's land. How do they come together though and why would they put their own goals aside…..or have they!?! This isn't the black avengers, this isn't a black book. This is about personal & moral conflict and strong characterisation. Now who you rolling with!?!

This issue was truly GREAT!!! Priest gives you so much but holds back enough to make a character still seem enigmatic. After the last panel of issue #4, I think everyone wanted to know the deal with Josiah. Now, we aren't shown the full extent of what transpired last issue, but we are given a hell of a story (shall we say origin), that really helps to flesh out Josiah as a character. After another great last panel, I WANT ISSUE #6 NOW!!!

Joe Bennett just seems to get better and better each week. His pencils really bring Priests words alive. The pain of this story transcends the page, you can feel it all. The colours seem to have a vivid but subtle quality to them that helps with the sombre story but doesn't make it too dark. And the cover has a quiet but powerful presence to it.
