Elric: The Ruby Throne Volume 1
Titan Comics has translated Elric: The Ruby Throne Volume 1 from French to English. The graphic novel adapts Elric of Melniboné novels by English writer Michael Moorcock. Elric, the albino immortal emperor Melniboné has to fend off plots from his cousin Yyrkoon who wants to steal his throne.  Julien Blondel wrote the script. Didier Poli and Robin Recht are the artist on Elric: The Ruby Throne Volume 1  (ISBN:1782761241). It’s a 64 pages hardcover book that will ship on September 16, 2014.

Les Métamorphoses d'Olia
French publisher Actes Sud just released a translation of Russian author Russian Olga Sedakova’s Les Métamorphoses d'Olia. Italian cartoonist Gabriella Giandelli did the illustratons. Olia transforms into a hen, an elephant, a puppy and more every time she needs to hide her emotions and fears. Sedakova is a celebrated poet and Russian culture scholar. The New Yorker and Fantagraphics have published Giandelli's work in the past.  Les Métamorphoses d'Olia (ISBN: 978-2-330-01288-5) is 32 pages. Odile Belkeddar translated the book aimed at girls from Russian to French.

Le Constat
Étienne Davodeau’s Le Constat gets a new edition from publisher Dargaud. The publisher released the road movie-like graphic novel in 1996. Le Constat (978-2-330-01288-5) established Davodeau as a serious cartoonist in Europe.

Finelle tome1: Le Front d’Alsace
Delcourt just released Finelle tome1: Le Front d’Alsace from Anne Teuf. This graphic novel tells the story of eight-year-old Joséphine who lives in Alsace just before the Great War. Living an idyllic life, Joséphine’s world is about to change with the upcoming war. Finelle tome1: Le Front d’Alsace (ISBN: 978-2-7560-4122-3) is the first volume of a series.

Black Astronaut

The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention
The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC) seeks funding for their 2015 convention. It is  scheduled for May 2015 in Philadelphia. The ECBACC has been one of the main black-themed comic book organizations since 2009 in the United States since 2009. The organization hosts annual comics conventions and present the Glyph Awards every year. This award is for promising promising African-American comic book creators. More at Indiegogo.

Comics to Films

Ant-Man Director Quits
Edgar Wright, the director of the 2015 Ant-Man movie has quit the project due to creative differences with Marvel Studios. Wright had been working on an Ant-Man script since 2006 and spearheaded the whole Ant-Man project since day one. Wright’s vision for Ant-Man was unique in the stable of Marvel productions. Marvel says that it will announce a replacement director will be shortly. Source: Twitter.
