Arrow was once again in a higher gear and pace. This show is finally starting deliver on what it promised towards the beginning. This week the show answered a logic problem inherent with the premise of the show itself. Oliver Queen has been seemingly sloppy when dealing with the bad guys. He let himself get exposed through a camera and consequently was taken in by the police for suspicion of murder. After a small amount of exposition we discover that this was truly all part of his plan. While his plan does not go perfectly most people in his life are fooled. It was still enjoyable to see Speedy and Laurel not acting like idiots this week. The two of them never rule out the possibility that Oliver could be Arrow.

The island plot was also kicked into high gear with the introduction of Deathstroke. Deathstroke was a pretty good representation of the villain himself. Deathstroke was cold and quiet and did his job just like we should expect a trained assassin to do. While Deathstroke said almost nothing and this proves to contradict the comic book version of him, He is much more effective in this version as a cold killer. On the island the central theme this time was lying. Oliver passed the polygraph test in present day by using his skills of interrogation that he learned on the island. The storyline was effective and makes me curious who the hooded one that taught Oliver will turn out to be.

Diggle also had an interesting storyline this week by covering Oliver’s identity. The scene where Diggle called Ollie out for lying to freaking almost everybody was also very enjoyable. Oliver is lying to almost everybody he knows so it is great to see Diggle to take a stand for himself. Watching Diggle’s reaction to the “Batcave” of Oliver’s was priceless. The man also looked great in that Arrow suit.

Walter had a great scene with his wife. The woman has been deeper entrenched in lies than Oliver. In fact her shady business dealings almost had her son killed. John Barrowman is great in this real awful villain role. Watching Walter take a stand and pack up his things and leaving the house was a great little moment. Arrow is now something to keep an eye the show just keeps growing and getting better and better.
