Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a group of fresh details, as well as new screenshots and the box art for its upcoming Nintendo DS strategy game, LEGO Battles, today. Developed by Hellbent Games and produced by TT Games, LEGO Battles will be releasing exclusively for the Nintendo DS platform this summer and will

feature six distinct storylines based on three classic LEGO block themes – LEGO Space, LEGO Castle and LEGO Pirates.

As with past LEGO video game titles, LEGO Battles is sure to be packed with nearly endless customization, and the odd, but cute humour players of those previous titles have come to enjoy. And players will have plenty of time to go crazy with customization because the game is packed with 90 levels over the six storylines. You'll be able to assemble (pardon the pun, it only works because it's LEGO) your own bases and teams and mix and match units to create your own, fully customized squad, chosen from a selection of 55 playable characters and 30 vehicles.

You'll also be able to put the power of your squads to the test by battling your friends in the multiplayer mode, using the wireless DS multi-card play feature. Wage blocky war on land, sea or in the air (I wonder how that works in space...) in LEGO Battles this summer – the estimated release date is June 9th, only on Nintendo DS. LEGO Battles is rated E for Everyone.
