Sersi gives her party for the Vorozheikan embassy but meets Mark Curry for which she feels a strange longing and love for. So she does what girls do, and invites him to the party. Elsewhere, Ikaris continues to try to make contact with Curry and convince him that he is a fellow Eternal, just like him. But he needs to convince Curry fast as his captors may have found something to disintegrate him.

This issue is slower than the first but goes into more detail into the personality of other Eternals. Each is introduced slowly but one can already guess where this will go. Next issue, a couple of them will reawaken and take on the bad guys. I wish Gaiman would not serve up such a cliché plot. There is also some acknowledgment that the story is in continuity as the Iron Man’s secret identity as Tony Stark is known knowledge.

I can’t say much about the artwork. Romita Jr drew perfectly rendered pages filled with adequate pacing, strong storytelling and catching character expressions. The characters almost feel real, although his style is anything but realistic.

6/10
