Laying low in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Blade discovers a department store Santa Claus with something rotten in him.  This jolly Father Christmas, however, won't go gently into the night when Blade confronts him.  Meanwhile, Lucas Cross, learns of the troubling prophecy involving Blade, and in our look back into Blade's past we see young Blade's battle with another Cross.

In Blade #4 (entitled "Morton's Fork"), writer Marc Guggenheim continues to deliver a solid action comic with strong character writing.  Guggenheim makes Blade's predicaments come to life so that the reader can feel, to some extent, Blade's struggle.  Unlike so many comic book writers today, Guggenheim can deliver, in each single issue, a single dose of Blade action that begins and ends in the span of 22 pages, and the reader really doesn't need the issue before, nor is he obligated to the next issue.

Meanwhile, the team of artist Howard Chaykin and colorist Edgar Delgado continue to deliver visuals that are dark, comic, and darkly comic in a subtle and witty fashion, only going over the top when necessary.

8/10
