While the title might be Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, there is relatively little Hal Jordan to be had here. I don’t mind that, because at some point or other, the rest of the Corps needs to shine. Last issue saw them in battle with Starro, only to learn he (it?) was a diversion for Brainiac. Well, why not? How come some of these space-faring characters such as the Green Lanterns haven’t encountered Brainiac in the past? It’s a first, to the best of my knowledge.

Now the Green Lanterns – as well as many Yellow Lanterns, led by Sinestro’s daughter, Soranik – are trapped by Brainiac in an impenetrable shield. It’s interesting to see them working side-by-side, but I’m curious as the source of the Yellow Lanterns’ power. Exactly whose fear are they tapping into?

Meanwhile, the absence of Hal Jordan is being felt, and two of the remaining Guardians may have a solution. But I won’t spoil it here. You’ll just have to read it for yourself. Let’s just say it answers a question many have wondered since issue #1.
