Jessica is on the run from the intergalactic law – and Simon has been sent to bring her in. Or so she thinks. Cuz Simon is a stand-up guy and is willing to give Jess the benefit of the doubt. He’s determined to help her get to the bottom of the situation, despite orders to the contrary.

And those orders came from none other than Hal Jordan, uber-douche. He’s fine when he’s in his own comic book, lord and master of all he surveys. But this week this is one of two instances of him crossing over to other titles, and exerting his non-existent authority. Yes, as a GL, he outranks Simon and Jessica. But as someone once possessed by Parallax, you’d think he’d be a wee bit understanding of one of his protégés.

Thankfully, the whole law-officer-on-the-run story ends this issue, and all is right with the universe once more. The whys and wherefores are cleared up (mostly), though there are suggestions more is to develop next issue. We’ll see.

I’d always thought the person of launching this title was to feature Green Lanterns on Earth, but it seems Simon and Jessica have been zipping around the stars dealing with extraterrestrial matters. I thought that was Hal Jordan and the GL Corps. I’d rather see Simon and Jess back on Earth. I like the pancakes.
