It’s one of those stories where what we thought we knew wasn’t what we were reading about. But for all his mastery in the arts of writing, Gaiman didn’t plant many clues beforehand. Nevertheless, this story is still enjoyable because of it’s lightness when compared to other Marvel comic books. It’s off putting to see Sersi go through the inductee plot which we’ve seen Makkari go through in the four first issues.
Romita is as solid as ever and proves why storytelling is such a rare art in comic books. He creates pages that are easy to read, pulling you in with a straightforward graphic style that makes one want ton know more about the characters. The alternate cover by Berry is poor.
