On September 30, 2008, The Disinformation Company will release a new run of
The Mindscape of Alan Moore, a DVD documentary on comic book writer Alan Moore, creator of
The Watchmen,
V for Vendetta and more.
The Comic Book Bin will award one free copy of this DVD to each of the best three writers who send us non-fiction essays of a minimum of a 1,000 words on Alan Moore and his work. All essays must be original and be well-researched and contain no factual errors. Individual opinions are of course welcome.
The Comic Book Bin will publish each serious article submitted by budding writers on the site. Entries must be submitted between September 4, 2008 and September 28, 2008. You may submit multiple articles during the contest.
Of course, you agree to give
The Comic Book Bin the exclusive right to publish your submitted article on its Web site, but do keep your copyrights if you do not win (that means, don’t re-publish it on your blog or send something you’ve already written somewhere else). Winning entries’ copyrights will be transferred to
The Comic Book Bin, although we’ll never remove your credits from the article. We do reserve the right to re-publish winning entries in other formats and venues.
We’ll determine winning entries mainly by ear. The writers and editors of
The Comic Book Bin will look at the articles, but we’ll also look at the comments from other visitors left under articles submitted.
All participants, must include their full mailing address, phone number, age (must be 18 years-old and up to participate) so we can easily reach them if they win and send them a copy of the DVD. All participants should also be registered to
The Comic Book Bin’s free newsletter. All participants must also answer this basic math question so that our pals in Quebec may participate too!
100/50*5+25-3 = ???
We do reserve the right not to award any winning DVD if we find no suitable entry.
The
Comic Book Bin writers and editors, past and present, their direct families, employees of Coolstreak Cartoons Inc., past and present, cannot submit entries in this contest. Articles must be submitted in English and be free of spelling and grammar mistakes. We reserve the right to eliminate plagiarized entries if we find out about them.
Submit all entries to the email address below.
The Comic Book Bin would like to thank The Disinformation Company and Alan Moore for making this contest possible. Check this article about more information on the The Mindscape of Alan Moore.
Good luck!
NOTES:
We haven't had many submissions, so we're extending this a few more days. No specific end date, but we do have more DVDs to give than participants with entries so far - hint, hint. Just try it out, you may win!
