Comic traditionalists should be excited that DC is keeping in fashion the Kryptonian's family values of having faith in humanity but being better than our best selves. Great great reassuring monologue letting us humans know Supergirl won’t give up on us no matter how much we misguidedly distrust aliens. We inspire her.

The best thing about this comic is the George Perez awesomeness level of character design. The influence of video games on the vision of current comic artists is on full display here. Turid Goldenaxe the Viking Judge is a beast. Huge horns, huge axe, and a dramatic green cape that wants it’s own title-love this character. Director Bones is so simple but who doesn’t love a skull poking out of a nicely drawn suit.

There’s Lar-On a gigantic panting red werewolf hanging out and a dude that looks like a cross between Dr. Strange and Nightwing named Neon (horrible name) shooting out a bunch of red blue and green swirls out of a delicious looking staff-love it all.
