There seems to be trouble on the high seas. Someone thinks that El Cazador is easy prey, but even if Captain Sin is out-gunned and out-manned: there must be something she can do, or is there?
Dixon is really getting the flow of the story right here. Its not action packed, but the feel of the book is that of a classic pirate film. We are currently in the midst of a cat and mouse, well actually it should be a cat and fish chase and things aren't looking to good for Captain Sin. The ending of the book is a nice took and should add to the reputation of our fledgling rogue. The dialogue helps to immerse you in the atmosphere of the day, which is definitely a strong point of the story.
The art on this book is definitely reminiscent of an old film. Epting truly excels himself each issue. His pencils really tell a story. If you look at the faces of Captain Sin's crew, you can see the experience of the sea in them and compare that to Sin herself, there is a wealth of difference. Epting alone could sell the atmosphere for the reader, but he is helped by the wonderful colours that are used. And Frank D'Armata's cover is a great enticement to pick the book up.
