Iris West figures out how to rescue Flash and police officer Burns from Heat Wave’s mind with the help of Commander Cold. But the cost of this rescue may involve the destruction of Central City. Can they pull it off?

I have a feeling that the comic is trying to portray the relationship between Captain Cold and Heat Wave from the Flash television series, although to be fair to those of you who know more than me about Silver Age comic history, these characters were friends in the old comics too. I don’t mind this at all and find it interesting that Commander Cold has established a “virtual” relationship with Heat Wave. It’s like Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Those two are meant to play off one another. Joshua Williamson, regardless of the breathtaking approach of his comics, is spending a lot more time developing the Flash’s Rogue gallery but in ways that differ from Geoff Johns and all other Flash writers before him.

This is the third issue in a row with Scott Kolins drawing the comic. Of course, I am elated. But I really hope that he will not draw the next issue, so that he can prepare and draw an entire future storyline without interruptions. I’m ready to see some good artwork by Howard Porter or whoever is lined up next. Scott Kolins on Flash is a joy. His work is messy and reminds me of Chas Truog and Greg Larocque mixed with a bit of Gil Kane. Kolins does not draw multiple Flashes in one frame as often as other artists, but it does not matter much. His work is still enticing and a good fit for this series.
