J. Torres' script for TEEN TITANS GO! #2 is a well-written variation on an old tale - the boy who cried wolf. TTG!, an adaptation of "Teen Titans," the Cartoon Network hit, is probably DC's best current effort at making a good comic for young readers. It's the kind of quality magazine that can compete with other juvenile magazines that are available at news outlets (newsstands, bookstores, grocery stores, etc.).

Torres' story is familiar enough, but he does what a smart writer must do - put a good spin on it. He has a good sense of comic timing and pacing, and his scripts are funny; plus, he makes the Titans likable characters.

Todd Nauck is a fan favorite artist, but even that dubious distinction hides the fact that he may be (with Joe Madureira) the smart superhero new comic book artist to come out volatile 90's boom/bust. It's in his ability to juxtapose the inherit melodrama and humor of super hero comics. His art alone is worth the price of admission.
[DRECK, DULL, READABLE, VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT]
