X-STATIX #20

MARVEL COMICS

Lest you think that X-STATIX is nothing without the duo of Peter Milligan and Mike Allred, issue 20 proves that Milligan has written so well over the run of this series that he can make it without his usual partner in crime. For the conclusion of the two-part storyline "The Cure," Nick Dragotta joins Milligan, and the title doesn't miss a step.
Dragotta's style brings this tale an atmosphere of dread and horror. It's an intriguing missive about identity and keeping it real. And it really helps to sell the story if the readers can buy into the fact that the hero might not be redeemed. As with previous issues of this series, it's fun, fun, and more fun from the first page to the last. It's a pity it'll all end soon.
[DRECK, DULL, READABLE, PRETTY GOOD, EXCELLENT]
