The popular online comic series Nightmare World will be hitting comic store shelves as a graphic novel this July through FC9 Publishing!

"It's been a long time since such a well-written anthology of horror stories like this has seen print," commented FC9 President Tilman Goins, "But writer Aaron Weisbrod's chilling sense of reality gone slightly askew – combined with his peculiar sense of humor – brings a unique and thrilling voice to everything he writes."

Critics, fans, and professionals alike have hailed Nightmare World as "EC sensibility meeting The Twilight Zone," and with weekly updates to NightmareWorld.com made available to the masses every Thursday, a library of over 25 separate eight-page stories currently available online, and with no end to the series in sight, Nightmare World has become an cult phenomenon for comic readers and horror fans alike since its online debut a little over two years ago.

So why bring a web comic that people can already read online for free into print? "For the fans!" Exclaimed FC9 President Tilman Goins. "Nightmare World has a huge following and we want to give its loyal readership, as well as some first time readers of the series, something that they can actually hold in their hands, read, and enjoy no matter where they are."

Nightmare World writer and creator Aaron Weisbrod was quick to agree. "Absolutely. Furthermore, I love surfing the ‘net as much as the next guy, but there’s nothing like being able to hold a good book in your hands. Besides, it has been the plan since ‘Day One’ to start bringing these stories into print as graphic novel/TPB collections, and I’m thrilled that we’ve found just the right publisher to help us fulfill this vision in FC9."

Weisbrod was eager to elaborate on what brought Nightmare World to FC9 Publishing. "The biggest reason was how [FC9 President] Tilman Goins has displayed nothing but the utmost integrity since my very first conversation with him. That aside, I was also impressed with the small but talented roster of creators he already has onboard! Nightmare World is going to be published along side books written by Jim (Shadowhawk/Genie) Keplinger and Dan (Obergeist/Hell, MI) Jolley! It’s both exciting and humbling!"

Nightmare World: "Knee Deep in the Dead" and other Tales of Terror will feature nine complete eight-page stories from NightmareWorld.com, two rare one-page strips, a cover gallery, and two never before seen eight-page stories exclusive to this collected edition. Featuring a wrap-around cover by Kristen Perry and an introduction by legendary horror-comic guru Brian Pulido (creator of Lady Death, Evil Ernie, and the Chaos! Comics universe), this full-color 96-page graphic novel will retail for only $9.99.

"When considering a collection like this, my two main priorities were packing in as much material as (un)humanly possible while keeping the price-point low, and, again, FC9 shared my vision on this every step of the way." Explained Weisbrod. "This book is packed to the gills with cool stuff – literally from cover to cover – and I’m thrilled that we can offer people a full-color collection that clocks in at almost 100 pages for just below ten bucks."

Nightmare World: "Knee Deep in the Dead" and other Tales of Terror (MAY052772) is solicited in the May Previews (Volume XV #5) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on July 13.

"With Nightmare World Aaron Weisbrod has created something reminiscent of Bruce Jones's pioneering independent Twisted Tales series in the early 1980’s. Nightmare World runs the gamut of the horror world, from the grotesque to the slapstick and satirical. With every story he tries something new in these bizarre slices of life, making the most of the eight-page short format..."
-- Scott Allie, Editor, Hellboy

"Weisbrod has a cock-eyed sense of humor that allows him to constantly go ahead and take a left turn towards the end of each story while veering through a myriad of topics. These are weird, highly enjoyable stories."
-- Jason Henderson,Writer, Sword of Dracula

"Aaron Weisbrod understands the essence of Lovecraftian horror, and that's what makes Nightmare World such a great read. He mixes the anodyne with the cosmically horrific, adds a dash of humor and pulp sensibility, and ends up with eight-page gems that read like full-length twenty-two page stories. If you're looking for great horror stories in the vein of EC Comics, look no further."
-- Arvid Nelson, Writer/Co-Creator, Rex Mundi

"Are you sure these stories won’t get you in trouble at your teaching job?"
-- Kim Weisbrod, concerned mother of the writer
