Will Cassie join the ranks of Iron Lad, Patriot, Asgardian, and Hulkling, as a Young Avenger and what will happen with Kate!?! And what is the next step for Jessica, Captain America and Iron Man!?!

OK, so we’re at issue #3 and even though there are some real interesting happenings (I’ll get to them, hold on), there are also a lot of things that annoy. One of these is Kate Bishop. Her involvement seems somewhat forced, in the fact that she is coming off as the very stereotypical tough (I saved your lives, I saved your lives!!!), pretty girl. One of the other thorns, is the whole fanboy (don’t you hate that word) connotations of the Young Avengers themselves. We definitely have a lot of goodness this issue though (I’m not hating). The story evolves real nicely and it looks like next issues gonna be a throwdown. We also get some info on the Young Avengers and a nod to The Truth (even though, what bout Josiah?).

Cheung continues to shines and the first page is a good example, with the translucent affect. Cheung also does a good job at handling scale, with the other characters in comparison to Cassie and The Growing Man. Captain America’s cowl (the cloth hood thingie) doesn’t seem quite right and Cassie, for some reason looks odd in uniform. But the scene with Tony and Cassie talking, really does resonate warmth.

Koncise an out :)
