The group of survivors escapes from the sewers and land in an open farm where they become target practice for the giant tripod aliens. Will they all make it alive?

This story continues to be an interesting take on the War of The World, however, what made the first and second issue so exceptional is gone this time. The premise of this story is that the aliens return a second time and this time they are tougher. However, if half the issue is the same old survival story, there’s no point calling it the second wave. There is nothing to distinguish it from the previous one or all the other War of the World comics from 2005. Let’s hope this story covers some of the second wave themes the first two issues did, in the next issue.

Art is what often breaks a comic book. Here I have to comment on the War of The Worlds’ cover. They look brown and boring. They don’t capture the intensity of the artwork inside the covers. Boom Studios should be careful about their covers. The art is good. My copy was in black and white, but it works well. It’s interesting that the publisher is willing to publish some of its books for less. If it helps their survival, so be it.
