Well, this is it. The end of the first arc that brought back Venom. I’m so glad this is over. It just came off as a complete non-event to me. The writing was so lack luster, at no point was drawn into the story or felt an ounce of empathy for any of the characters. Jenkins tries to light a spark by revealing Venoms motives and the source of Eddies hatred, but it’s like trying to light wet wood, you can’t. And the ending, which was trying to be thought provoking and meaningful, was just lank!!!
The art is weird in this book. I mean, I like some of the backgrounds, but I hate the character designs. Spider-man still looks limp and Venom looks a complete mess. What I did like was the shadow effects. Other than that, everything was frustrating.
