Rated “T” for “Teen”

Kyutaro Horikita, the cleaning expert of Kurokado Private High School, finds a maiden sleeping in an old room on campus.  She is transfer student Fumi Nishioka, and like Kyutaro, she has a talent for cleaning.  However, the tall, dark, and handsome Kyutaro is also a “Sweeper,” someone who cleans away negative energy from people's heart.  Fumi becomes his apprentice who will one day awaken as a Queen.  Now, comes the second part of their story.

Queen's Quality, Vol. 5 (Chapters 21 to 25) finds Fumi and Kyutaro deep inside the mind vault of the devious “bug handler,” Ataru Shikata.  Ataru was determined to force Fumi to release the “Black Queen” that is inside her heart, an act that will also reveal the mysterious past that Fumi and Ataru share... according to Ataru.  But what is the truth?  Fumi may have to kill the Black Queen or become a different kind of queen.  Still, new enemies will use this chaotic situation to reveal themselves, and poor Kyutaro may be too week to help Fumi.

THE LOWDOWN:  The Queen's Quality manga is a sequel to the QQ Sweeper manga.  The new series is a darker and fuller narrative, revealing more of the “Sweeper” mythology than the original did.

Queen's Quality Graphic Novel Volume 5 actually wraps up the current story arc (according to a note from author Kyousuke Motomi).  Readers will be satisfied, especially as we can see growth in the characters and a kind of evolution of the narrative.  Queen's Quality is good at leaving the readers wanting more, and while Vol. 5 does not offer a cliffhanger, it does have a mysterious ending and the promise of the beginning of a new arc

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Fans of Kyousuke Motomi's QQ Sweeper will want to read the Shojo Beat title, Queen's Quality.
