Rated “T” for “Teen”

One day, Kyutaro Horikita, the cleaning expert of Kurokado Private High School, finds a maiden sleeping in an old room on campus.  She is transfer student Fumi Nishioka, and like Kyutaro, she has a talent for cleaning.  However, the tall, dark, and handsome Kyutaro is also a “Sweeper,” someone who cleans away negative energy from people's heart.  Fumi becomes his apprentice who will one day awaken as a Queen.  Now, comes the second part of their story.

Queen's Quality, Vol. 4 (Chapters 16 to 20) finds Fumi needing Kyutaro's help to improve her performance in high school.  Will a trip to a coffee shop and a lesson in discipline really help a teen girl with a wandering mind?  Then, the devious "bug handler," Ataru Shikata, demands a man-to-man, face-to-face meeting with Kyutaro, but Ataru will be the one needing help, as the conspiracy to force Fumi to release the “Black Queen” continues.

THE LOWDOWN:  The Queen's Quality manga is a sequel to the manga, QQ Sweeper, and I am starting to think the sequel is superior to the original.  The three-volume QQ Sweeper is offbeat, and does not show the darker side of its narrative until the second half of the series.  Queen's Quality is less offbeat and is even darker.

Queen's Quality Graphic Novel Volume 4 starts off slow.  I am not really interested in Fumi's school performance, but this volume rapidly turns on the intensity once the adversaries start showing themselves.  We also get some more hints at Fumi's past... maybe.  Queen's Quality is good at leaving the readers wanting more, and it really does so with the ending of Vol. 4.

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Fans of Kyousuke Motomi's QQ Sweeper will want to read the Shojo Beat title, Queen's Quality.
