Unlike the previous El Gato comics (www.elgatocomics.com), THE NINE LOVES OF EL GATO, CRIME MANGLER is standard comic size. It's also a really fun jam comic in which cartoonist Michael Aushenker scripts several stories for his artist pals to draw, making Nine Loves a tasty sampler of small press and indy cartoonists.

My personal favorites include the Jim Wheelock drawn "Maria," the absolutely fun Amarpal Khanna drawn "Sharmila," and the twisted Ted Seko rendered "Yonelle." El Gato is the mad stew of horror, monsters, and screwy crime that lovers of the comics medium should not deny themselves. It exemplifies the spirit of a cartoonist sharing his unfettered imagination and creative process with his readers - and all in the name of fun.
[DRECK, DULL, READABLE, VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT]
