Hot Shots does Tennis

SCEA announced today that Clap Hanz, developer of the popular Hot Shots Golf franchise, will be adding tennis to the multi-million selling series. The game will have familiar aspects from the Golf series, using a mix of arcade-style action and what Sony calls “in-depth strategy”. There will be a few different modes available to be played, including a training mode, challenge modes (for unlocking extras), and singles and doubles play, plus up to four players will be able to play at the same time. The game is being developed exclusively for Playstation 2 and should be available this July for the price of $39.99 CAD.

The BIGS features revealed

2K Sports finally released some of the feature details that will be a part of its upcoming over-the-top MLB licensed title today. Taking a quick look at the features, it looks like The BIGS will essentially take baseball's most spectacular moments and blow them out of proportion (in a good way). Things like the power-up system and Turbo gameplay, which pits pitchers and batters against each other in a power-up duel, will add new gameplay elements not commonly used in baseball video games. A couple of the things that will appear in The BIGS that are commonly used in baseball are the use of authentic baseball stadiums and player likenesses. Expect to see stadiums as you've never seen them before.

There is a bit of an issue with this feature announcement, though. It didn't really go into detail as to how the control system will work. We'll still have to wait for a later release, as the game's release date draws near. The BIGS is set to release this summer for Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, PSP and Wii.

Medal of Honor Airborne has a date

Electronic Arts has finally announced the release date for Medal of Honor Airborne. Alright, officially speaking, the date set was the shipping date, but since it's going to be a Tuesday, we're expecting it to release that day too. The game is set to ship August 28th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. So why did we go through the trouble of making sure you knew that the day was officially set as the shipping date and not the release date? Because it does, sometimes, happen that a game will not release on the day it is shipped on, and we don't need you good readers getting angry with us because we did a little change of words. English is a fun language, isn't it?
