Rated “T” for “Teen”

He is a giant guy, and he isn't the most attractive fellow.  However, high school student, Takeo Goda, also has a giant heart, but girls at the school he attends, Shuei High School, won't have anything to do with him.  Then, he meets Rinko Yamato, from Koizumi Girls Academy, after saving her from a harasser on the train.  Yamato falls in love with Takeo and changes his life.  Takeo's long-time friend, Makoto Sunakawa, tags along for fun.

As My Love Story!!, Vol. 6 (Chapters 20 to 23) opens, Takeo eagerly awaits the birth of a new brother or sister.  Takeo is determined to keep his very pregnant, almost due mother, Yuriko, from exerting herself, but she is stubborn and independent about being an active woman.  However, when she goes into labor, Yuriko learns something about her son.  Also, Takeo learns how his mother and father, Yutaka Goda, met.

Then, Valentine's Day is approaching, and this will be the first time that Takeo receives “true-love chocolate” from a girl.  However, his anticipation may just be complicating matters.  Plus, Takei's lifelong best pal, Makoto Sunakawa, reveals his feelings about having a girlfriend.

THE LOWDOWN:  The My Love Story!! manga is making me fall in love with it.  This is my love story, from that first review copy from my VIZ Media rep to the moment this series became much more than just another high school shojo romance... at least to me.

My Love Story!! Volume 6 offers lots to love.  The birth of a new sibling is delightful, and the addition of the early romance of Takeo's parents is an unexpected treat.  Creators, writer Kazune Kawahara and artist Aruko, even offer the tease of romance for Sunakawa, which ends in a cliffhanger.  I did not think I would ever say this about My Love Story!!, but I can't wait for the next volume.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers looking for sweet love stories will want to try the Shojo Beat title, My Love Story!!
