The app is two months late and a couple of grey hairs for me, but darn, it's here.

Filling you in since 2002, ComicBookBin is your comic book collecting utility app. Read and search over 12,000 articles, browse through comic book conventions. Find comic book stores in multiple locations and see them on a map. Thank you for supporting the comic book industry.

The app is compatible with Android 1.6 to Android 2.2. Android users on devices running 1.6 to 2.1 can add convention listings to their Google Gmail calendars app and on their online calendar account.

The store locator allows users to find stores in their areas and even call them directly. It also allows users to find stores in other locales just by searching.

This project, if you've followed our blog has been very intensive for me and I've spent a lot of time making it happen. It was not easy. Anyone claiming that making an Android app is easy is misleading you. It was the toughest of all the ComicBookBin apps we have done so far.

I'm particularly proud of the fact that this app was created from scratch for Android and is not a clone of the versions we have for iOS (iPhone) and webOS (Palm). It's original including the raw Android interface. Internally, many staffers at the Bin prefer the look of this app to our other ones because of its Android look -  the black screen instead of the default white one and the bright orange selection menus.

If people thought we were not dedicated to Android, here's the proof we are. The app is rock solid and is a perfect companion to comic book readers and collectors with Android devices. It's available worldwide for free in the Google Android Market in the Comics category.

Go and download it today!
