He is an ace high school detective.  Jimmy Kudo is trailing two suspicious men in black (Gin and Vodka).  The nefarious duo attacks him and administers a mysterious substance that physically transforms the teen into a first grader.  While searching for a cure, Jimmy adopts a new identity, becoming elementary school student, Conan Edogawa.  Acting alone and sometimes with his friends, the Junior Detective League (JDL), Jimmy/Conan continues to solve criminal cases and mysteries.

Case Closed, Vol. 65 (“The Red Wall”) finds Conan wrapping up his latest tussle with the Kaito Kid, the esteemed gentleman thief and Conan's almost supernaturally talented rival.  Then, when bank robbers stage a hold-up of Teito Bank, it is up to Conan and the JDL to come to the rescue.  Meanwhile, a detective, who is one of the hostages in the bank, thinks a fellow hostage is a dear friend, whom she believed to be dead!  Finally, Conan and Richard Moore (“the Sleeping Detective”) head to Nagano to solve the murder mystery of “the Red Wall.”

THE LOWDOWN:  Dear readers, you know that I love the Case Closed manga.  Known as Detective Conan in Japan, this long-running cozy mystery manga will cozy up to any mystery fan.

Case Closed Graphic Novel Volume 65 offers one murder mystery that has several victims.  Before that however, we get the end of the latest “Kaito Kid” case, one of the delights creator Gosho Aoyama offers his readers.  There is also a bank robbery that recalls Spike Lee's 2006 film, Inside Man, which was written by Russell Gewirtz.  This story arc was originally published in 2009, and likely was conceived in 2008, so...

Anyway, “The Red Wall” murder case is a fantastic read.  It does not end in Vol. 65...  This is another reason to keep reading.
