Rated “T+” for “Older Teen”

Ace high school detective, Jimmy Kudo, is trailing two suspicious men in black (Gin and Vodka).  The nefarious duo attacks him and administers a mysterious substance that physically transforms the teen into a first grader.  While searching for a cure, Jimmy adopts a new identity, becoming elementary school student, Conan Edogawa.  Acting alone and sometimes with his friends, the Junior Detective League (JDL), Jimmy/Conan continues to solve criminal cases and mysteries.

Case Closed, Vol. 64 (“Old Scars”) finds Conan and the JDL on a fishing trip – a successful fishing trip.  However, their biggest catch is a corpse of a young woman.  Now, Conan has to discover which of her friends is her killer!  Next, Conan joins the hunt for the identity of a young man who helped a visually impaired woman when they were kids.  At stake is a million dollar-winning lottery ticket and the identity of a serial killer.  And the Kaito Kid may be back!

THE LOWDOWN:  I still love it.  You know this already, if you are a regular reader of my reviews.  I love the Case Closed manga, which is known as Detective Conan in Japan.  I can't wait to read new volumes of this long-running cozy mystery manga that will cozy up to any mystery fan.

Case Closed Graphic Novel Volume 64 offers two murder mysteries, one of them featuring several dead bodies.  Plus, there is the lottery ticket mystery, which I must say is both delightful and poignant.  The serial killer case stretches credulity and has a mahjong angle, but I had a blast reading it..  And hey!, who doesn't love the Kaito Kid?  He is as good a reason as any for me to once again highly recommend Case Closed.

I READS YOU RECOMMENDS:  Readers looking for fun mystery fiction will want to investigate the “Shonen Sunday” detective manga, Case Closed.
