In this one shot story, The Birds of Prey must rescue a boy linked to one a Casino mogul whom everybody wants dead. The young boy is the a cousin of the mogul who needs him for a transplantation. As part of the Royal Flush Gang and corrupted cops make their way, it’s up the Huntress, Black Canary and Oracle to rescue and protect the boy from all competing forces who want to kidnap him.

This was a fill in issue that was quite convoluted. The writer may have thought that playing one faction over another constantly was fun and a good way of keeping interest, but it wasn’t. The back story is complicated for what will probably be left aside as the regular writer returns.

The artwork takes a while to appreciate. The inking is not strong enough. The lines are too thin to fit the artist’s style properly. The style changes from page to page, with some being stronger than others. For example, the page where the Huntress meets the boy for the first time, looks much better than anything else. It almost seems as if another inker had done the inking.
