So much happens in this story that it can get rather confusing. But the main point, that the the "Trinity" now have a different outlook-- comes through. Even their close friends are strangely alienated from them and must undertake a special mission to try to re-connect the big three with their human nature.

The writer keeps on throwing one plot twist on the other, it barely gives the reader time to catch his breath... or even recall what happened last issue. Since this is a weekly comic, DC editors probably think they don't need to re-cap what happened earlier but when you have a cast this large and so many sub-plots going in different directions, even the most devoted reader can get lost.

The art is powerful but also strangely uninvolving-- perhaps because the characters we are seeing are no longer the old heroes we remember. But the art team still manages to keep the huge cast of characters straight, which is quite a feat in itself.
