Amazingly, Issue #5 picks up where #4 left off. Like right AT the leave off point. The focus this issue is Mike Cray, and IO operative with a lethal brain tumor. He’s been handed the assignment of taking down Angie Spica, but in reviewing the surveillance footage, he’s come to the conclusion Spica isn’t much of a lethal target.

Suddenly, the brain tumor has given Mike a conscience, and he questions his role, whether he’s been defending his country, or simple a hired killer, dancing to a beat set by a secret government organization. Whose government is yet to be determined.

I found this issue much stronger than previous. Like #4, it’s not long on action, but it’s not long on confusion either. Maybe I’m just coming to know the players involved, or maybe the players motives and roles are beginning to coalesce. Either way, it gives me hope that future issue won’t veer too far off the rails.

Despite such faint praise, I must give credit to the creative team to keep the overall tone of the book consistent, and hitting their deadlines so it comes out in a timely manner. They seem to be a tight team, working well together to turn out (what I hope will be) quality work.
