While Mark Grayson’s younger brother enjoys his newfound powers, Grayson is called in to stop Mister immortal from making an idiot of himself by starting a fight with an alien. The alien, Allen wants Mark to return with him in space, but Invincible has other thing in mind. For one, there’s a girl who wants to be his girlfriend and it doesn’t look like she’ll take no for an answer.

A new reader friendly was published recently, but I’ve missed out on that. Yet I picked up this issue and had no problems figuring out what was happening. That’s a good sign that this comic book is worth being in my pull list. It’s actually quite funny and shows the struggles of a young guy with some major powers. Issues like that are good because they allow new readers to find out more about the character’s personality. I still don’t know what power he has, who are his nemeses and what part he plays in the Guardians, but I can tell that I’ll enjoy discovering it in future issues.

Ottley’s work is good and with a good grasp of facial expressions. He does a few tricks that remind me of artist Kevin Maguire. But his work is totally different. It’s not as soft as Maguire and the backdrops feel a bit empty. With more inked shadows, it would have added more contrast to the characters and remove the pastel feel of this comic book. It seems much too friendly to be taken seriously.

Now my one question is about whether the creators of this comic book have collected editions ready?
