Sometimes simple games are the most fun and entertaining. Apples to Apples easily falls into that category. With no quest to achieve, no world to dominate or no archenemy to stop I wondered for a few minutes what fun could be had with this game. All that changed when I tried playing it online with five other people.

The goal of the game is fairly simple and amusing. You are dealt seven Apple cards (out of more than a thousand different cards) and you have to choose one that you think that fit best with the definition card that is on the table. The trick is that there is no good answer! Each turn, a judge is randomly selected among the players to choose which participants has the best match. Needless to say that it can leads to pretty funny combination and to an almost unlimited different way the game can turn out. Like many other games the more you play the more you unlock new avatars and special cards that will allow you to had a bit more depth to your strategy. Apples to Apples also feature a solo game mode but if you want to get the maximum out of your purchase you definitely need to play it online via Xbox Live.

Apples to Apples is a great party games that can played by almost anyone so I would not be surprises to see it played in many homes during the holidays.
