Green Lantern # 10

It is One Year Later and a lot has happened in Hal Jordan's life. He is being pursued by alien bounty hunters, the United Nations is on the verge of passing a resolution that would bar him from fighting crime overseas and he and his fellow air force buddies have apparently been recently rescued from some concentration camp. Many of these details are relayed only through recollections and flashbacks. But this story is told well so it never becomes confusing despite its complexity. Hal's courage and the way it sometimes turns into foolhardiness, is cleverly employed to set up the various plotlines. His willingness to defy UN guidelines-- and to pilot a combat aircraft without his power ring-- make him both an object of admiration and exasperation. The art is also fairly good, fitting the science fiction/adventure genre well. There is a little too much going on in this issue, almost as if the editors were setting up the plotlines for the next three years but if they can pull it off as smoothly as they pulled off this issue, the long wait should be worth it.
