Demi the Demoness Movie First XXX Comic Book Adaptation

Cartoonist and publisher S.S. Crompton has achieved a rare accomplishment in the world of comic books. Not only has his Adult Comix creation Demi the Demoness lasted 16 years and starred in over 30 comic books for five publishers besides his own imprint, Carnal Comics, but last month marked Hell's Cutest Denizen's film premiere in the XXX Demi the Demoness Movie DVD!

According to comic book historian and author Dan Fogel, this marks the first time an Adult or Underground comic book has been directly adapted into a live-action Adult film. "While there have been many mainstream comic books adapted to film, and several animated features, most notably R. Crumb's Fritz the Cat, the Demi the Demoness Movie is, to the best of my knowledge, the first of its kind." states Fogel. "There are European precedents in Adult comix to film, including Milo Manara's Click, but I don't believe they were hardcore or triple-X in nature, so certainly Demi wins the gold for America!"

Arizona native Crompton was approached last year by Adult Industry veteran producer-director Steve Steele with a unique proposal: adapting Demi into a full-scale Adult film while keeping faithful to the comic's supernatural origins and storyline. Seizing the opportunity, Crompton co-wrote the screenplay and co-produced the production with Steele, overseeing a lengthy pre-production process involving numerous make-up and costume tests in order to bring the erotic fantasy to life. Crompton enlisted his frequent collaborator, Underground cartoonist Randy Vogel, whose fan-favorite character Vampirooni often teams up with Demi and does so again in the film. Vogel created many of the props, paintings, and set pieces for the film, and produced illustrations for the DVD extras and the exclusive comic book insert.

The movie stars Ellie Idol as Demi the Demoness, Sinn Sage as Vampirooni and Audrey Elson as Lyssa the Witch, a Nazi descendent attempting to open a portal so that "The Dark Ones" can enter and rule the Earth. She needs mystical and sexual energy greater than her own, and kidnaps the fun-loving demoness and her undead friend to drain their energy. There's plenty of humor, puns and visual jokes throughout the film and in between the sex scenes, which captures the light-hearted nature of the comic books. "Part of Demi's long-lasting appeal is her sweet and lovable personality, despite her demonic origins." Fogel said. "This, along with the fantasy and magical elements of the strip, has given Demi a large female fan base that is rare in Adult Comix."

In addition to Crompton and Vogel's exclusive comic-book insert, the Demi the Demoness Movie boasts several DVD extras: an intro section with Demi & Vampirooni's origins, a behind the scenes featurette, outtakes, bloopers, and a section combining stills with used and unused artwork from the film.

The Demi the Demoness Movie DVD is for Adults Only, in widescreen ratio and stereo sound, and retails for $25.00. There are plans for a downloadable version and a wider DVD release, but for now it's available only from the website www.demidemonessmovie.com . The first 100 copies are an exclusive signed edition at no extra charge. Crompton's comic book catalog is available at www.demicomix.com

Ok, number one: "large female fan base"? Yeah. Right. Female fans of a sex comic. Who all happen to have back hair, wangs, and extensive action figure collections.

Number two: how does one even GET outtakes and bloopers in a smut flick?
