Captain America #26

Robert Morales Penciled by Chris Bachalo Cover by Dave Johnson. The "Bucky Issue" resurfaces, as Cap must answer for his World War II history with young Bucky Barnes fighting by his side.

The thing I like about this issue is the way the past and present interplay with each other. In life certain situations can cause reflective moments. Steve Rogers has had quiet a life, so it was a nice touch to see it here. The thing that stuck out from this issue was the fact that, even without super powers Bucky Barnes was prepared to risk his life for others. He was the epitome of a hero. And Steve held that at heart. It will be interesting to see where the political threads lead to.

I was a bit worried after the second page of panels, as they seemed a little too busy and hard to make out. This wasn't the case for the rest of the issue however. Bachalo's handling of the flashback scenes had a real nostalgia feel to them. Crisp pencils coupled with some real nice colouring affect. The last page needs no words as Bachalo encapsulates Morales message with that one image.
