AMAZING FANTASY #6 pt. 6 (of 6)

It's the end of the origin of Anya Corazon - but could it all be over before it beginning! It's all down to Papa Corazon and all the training in the world can't help here.

This is the final part of this introductory mini, so this issue had to really tie things up nicely. The good thing is, Avery manages to do this. We have the meeting between her father and Miguel, another W.A.S.P confrontation. But the funniest part of the issue had to be the costume fitting, which is hilarious. For all this though, the issue does get bogged down with some real awkward dialogue in places, which make some of the moments seem forced. And the ending is a little flat, but enough has been done I think to entice for the next jump off.

Mark Brooks jumps back onto pencils this issue. Its always a little disconcerting when there are a lot of artist changes in a short space of time, but luckily there haven't been any drastic style changes and Brooks continues the good work. As with Avery, the best part of the art is the costume fitting. There are a lot of takeoffs and parodies which is real fun to see. When she's in her armour, really reminds me of Guyver. The last page is also really nice, but it would be nice to actually see what those things do. Have to mention the cover too. The reflections in the goggles are really well rendered and there may be a W.A.S.P hint in there!?!
