Superman visits prison to find out the truth behind the mysterious new villain called "Ruin." But as you can expect, a jailbreak occurs and Superman is soon battling some of his old villains, just in time for an OMAC unit to show up and complicate things. Rucka seems to have learned from his stint on "Wonder Woman" where he was criticized for the slow pacing. This time the story moves fast enough to be exciting while still giving us enough details into the complex plot and characterization going on in the background. Kerschl's art shows great promise even if it is a bit hard to tell what is going on in the rush of all the tumbling bodies. A few flaws pop up in the story as well: a former US president being treated like a common thug and the rather simplistic way the bad guy escapes from his cell-- these things strain the credibility of the story. There is also a sense that DC is still mining this "Luthor-is-president" plotline even after Luthor has left office.
