DC COMICS
WRITER: Gail Simone
ARTISTS: Mike Norton, Trevor Scott
COVER: Ladrönn

Wonder Woman visits Ivy Town, possibly to break up the romance between the size-changing superhero, the Atom and the size-changing supervillainess, Giganta. Portions of this tale are almost like a sit-com with Giganta and various students embarassing the new Atom, Ryan Choi in public. But the eventual battle between the heroes and the villains seems lacklustre and almost tacked-on. The story, while a charming diversion, lacks a driving force that would compel more people to read it. If the new Atom were an established hero with a huge fanbase, this issue would a good, solid tale. But this is a comic that is fighting for survival and needs something that will practically force the readers to pick it up. A story of Ryan's bad date isn't going to do it. One really bright spot however is the improved art by Norton and Scott. It gives the book a bright, kinetic look that makes it easy to recognize the characters, no matter what size they are. The cover however is messy and confusing. It makes Wonder Woman look unattractive and makes the Atom look like he is just flying off in the background. Three stars out of five.
