A Titan DIES. Only not in this issue. Actually, the team just attends the funeral of the deceased Titan who bought the farm in another comic book. It is another case of DC using a possible death-of-beloved-character to sell books. It also serves to link this title with the big COUNTDOWN event and even with AMAZONS ATTACK. Despite these handicaps, this is a nice transition issue. A lot of the characters do spend a lot of time talking but the writers give us a nice dose of action as well. This issue could serve as a guide to other writers whose transition issues just show a lot of weeping and whining. The art flows cleanly and makes the characters look very good. Some of the layouts look a little too posed though. It is still a pretty good effort considering this is basically a fill-in creative team until some new guys come aboard. Four out of five stars.
